What a busy weekend the squad has had….what a turn up for the youngs un on Saturday it did us all proud that those who turned up had such a splendid day, an absolutely huge well done to all who passed courses on Saturday from Sarah and Connor to Foxy and Bertie and Ben, some of you have come on some well earned journey in your lives and it was good that you came out of the water smiling and happy, the first time is never easy especially when your so young and small, so to see those smiles on your faces mean’t so much to us all yes that’s right Foxy it was job well done…….but you have to go back to work on Monday and your boss is about to start his instructors so remember your place .. next week he gets a beasting!!!!!
Speaking of such I know this from all of us at DCS both Nick and Matt have worked very hard over the last few months working towards their instructors exams so I for one wish them both well and hope that next week they both do well so we can put them in their place as instructors.. it will be a leasure working with them both.
The sun was exceptionally kind to us today and although the start was for 1pm, rendezvous at Matts was at 09.30 so it was a very fast run for 50 minutes prior to leaving and me trainers burn’t some rubber trying to get the long run in for the weekend, missed the swim and the game of squash but the call of the seals beconned. and yes young Matt was sorting the team out, as the head team leads helen and Paul did the morning shift with young Ben, clap calp round of applause….taking the mick but nice strides and you other guys should check out the brief department young Bens got it sorted!!!!!
Full boat so you can imaging the fun and excitement, well from me anyway and Helen had told me about her seal run in the morning so yep I was buzzing whoop whoop and Captain Paul wore his helmet right at the beggining joy of joy a girl can’ t get any happier or maybe I should get out more !!!
The San Andreas was the first dive so yes I must admit to some disappointment, but hey the viz was good and conditions were perfect so I was actually able to see bits that i had not seen for awhile, saw the prop shaft and some large plates that actually had quite a bit of sea life on them, Paul tells me he saw an octopus but this is second in a fortnight so after a week of heavy diving think he might have saw a big jellyfish and was just trying to impress us. Everyone did very well so it was good to get back on the boat with happy smiling faces and LUNCH!!!!!!!
Helen , Ben and Paul swapt roles for this one and how did they ever get to be waiters on the boat, hello but the people pulling tanks around yes yes we wanted a butty too Paul ahhhhh Matt what was he doing too you, the mushto has yes a new combo which fellas and gals you might want to wait for this one Helen actually put tea/coffee in there as well so any ideas of a name for this one might be considered favourably (or not).
Yep here we go second dive seal territory and they knew we were coming .. furry meerkats of the sea lost me train of thoughtn through the dive brief sorry Captain Walker and all those on board you could anticipate me joy or yes look innocently stunned as me and the Captain went off on one and the tourists what were they doing waving at us serious divers of the oceans tee hee..
Splendid splendid splendid second dive the BREDA (i THINK ) was actually very pretty and well worth another dive in the future even without the seals, the drop off was a wall full of life and as the viz was good the depth would have been interesting as well, also the gullies of which there were numerous would invite me back for a second dive but yes the day belonged to the little fells with the shiny eyes and playful natures, Deano they were playing with your fins oooooooo but that was some photography you got and the video clips from Jeff will look interesting on the blog they delight from start to finish and I’m so interested in finding them that you can forget that you are under the water just having an amazing day.
What can I say about my exit guys you were amazing and the thought of the long swim back looked interesting funny as owt and for me what diving is all about, bunch of folks on a boat having a brilliant day happy just diving and taking the mick out of each other…yep I lost my faithful friend over hundreds of dives but in hindsight my computer is where it should be in the sea not rotting in a box in an attic. its had a wonderful journey of sharks and crabs lobsters and yes the odd mistake or two and I hope it finds Davey Jones locker.. my new one will be the start of new adventures over many years and I say bring it on when its bleeping merrily in the sea tonight its earned its retirement thanks for keeping me safe that’s what I say….
Jayne you were a good buddy today and glad you got your three minutes at last well done xxx
